Hello Parents,

Our gospel value for the month of November is Hope. We will reflect in our class, what hope means to us and what it means to live hopeful lives, trusting in the Lord, our God.

The grade 6' will be looking at the 10 Commandments and their importance as a stable framework for a good and just society.

The grade 5's will be looking at their own personal covenants and those that God shares with each of us.

The grade 4"s will be researching a particular saint and inform the rest of the class on their findings.

Happy Thanksgiving Parents,

I want to wish you and your loved ones, a most happy and relaxing Thanksgiving. It is truly a time for us to pause and thank God for the many blessings in our life.

I am sending out a quick reminder that if you are a grade 6 parent and are considering having your child receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, please note that a mandatory meeting is being held in the church hall next Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.

The grade 4 students were asking for the recipe that their pendants were made from as well as the grade 5 Covenant stones , so here it is:

1 c. water
food colouring (optional)
2 tbsp. oil
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. flour
1/2 c. salt

Put first 4 ingredients in medium saucepan, stir well. Add flour and salt, cook over medium heat. Keep stirring. It will thicken quite quickly. Remove from heat and shape into ball.Cool before putting in a sealed container.

Also, here is a link to a heartwarming video that all my classes watched. https://youtu.be/cZGghmwUcbQ

Hello Parents,

I would like to remind the grade 6"s to please bring in a clean glass jar with their name on it. Labels glued to the jar should be scrubbed off. We are planning on designing lanterns with them. Thanks. Also, if you are considering having your Gr. 6 student make the sacrament of Confirmation, please refer to the note that has gone home. A mandatory meeting will be held in the church hall at 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 10.

All classes Gr.4.5, and 6 will be working on the important issue of bullying and to help us in addressing this issue, we will be looking and reflecting on the Samaritans On The Digital Road - a resource that has been designed by our Board.

Posted below are the pictures with your child's work.

Hello Parents,
I am delighted to be your child's religion teacher this year. If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach me by either writig in your child's agenda or calling me here at school.

We have been discussing about our class religion symbol (Gr.4-stump, Gr.5-rock, and Gr.6- lantern) as well as our new Board's theme:
                                                         Seek Justice
                                                         Love Kindness & Mercy
                                                         Walk Humbly With God
                                                                                                     Micah 6:8
This year our focus will be Seek Justice.

The grade 6's will be researching Terry Fox, a person of great commitment, in preparation for our school's Terry Fox Run. This run will be held on Sept.26 and any proceeds raised will be going to the Terry fox Foundation for cancer research. It is a great way to start off the new school year, working towards a common goal and building community.

The grade 5's will be also working on building community by creating a cross mosaic that will showcase something about themseves.

The grade 4's will be adding to their class stump and focusing on how to
get to know Jesus more fully.

Stay tuned for pictures of all these activities in the coming weeks.
